Mr. Robert Ira Nicholson

August 21, 1938 - March 14, 2022

Robert “Bob” Ira Nicholson, age 83, passed away Monday, March 14, 2022, at his home in Mena, Arkansas. He was born, August 21, 1938, in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was united in marriage to Heidi Doench, December 24, 1964, and were married for 58 years, before the Lord called him home. Mr. Nicholson was a design engineer by profession and was a member of the United State Marine Corps. He enjoyed designing, wood working, arts, crafts, ceramics, painting, researching the bible and reading. He especially loved western and military novels and movies. Robert was a faithful member of the 1st Assembly of God Church in Mena, Arkansas. Mr. Nicholson is preceded in death by his parents, and by his brother, Freddy Nicholson. He is survived by his loving wife, Heidi Nicholson; sons, Robert I. Nicholson and ex-wife Pamela of Texas; and Daniel C. Nicholson and wife Melissa of Mena, Arkansas; grandchildren, Chris Melton and wife Chevette, Jessica and Matthew Nicholson; great-grandchildren, Ruby Melton, Betty Melton, and Katie Melton; nephew, John Nicholson; and by his nieces, Donna Klingenberg and husband Nick, and Kim Nicholson. Services for Mr. Nicholson will be held, 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 19, 2022, at the 1st Assembly of God Church in Mena, Arkansas, with Brother Ron Tilley officiating under the direction of Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. With interment following at Mt. Gilead Cemetery in Mena, Arkansas. Visitation will be Saturday at 1:00 p.m. prior to service at the 1st Assembly of God Church.
