Mr. Damion Trae Butler, age 18, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away Friday, August 23, 2019 at his home in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was born on October 2, 2000, in Talihina, Oklahoma to his mother Heather Carney and the late Steven Butler. Damion loved to listen to music and play video games, music was his passion. He also enjoyed going out and shooting, especially target practice. Damion was an avid artist; he liked to draw and write. One of his passions was doing research, on several different topics. He was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend to all that knew him. He will be dearly missed by all. He is survived by: Mother: Heather Carney and partner Kienan Hicks of Fort Smith, Arkansas Brother: Steven Butler of Cameron, Oklahoma Sister: Brinley Butler of Howe, Oklahoma Grandparents: Elton and Rozetta Carney of Smithville, Oklahoma Kim and Roy Butler of Cameron, Oklahoma Nephew: Cashton Oliver Holt His fur baby: Lazlo Numerous, aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his two fathers; Steven Butler and Neil Parish. Services will be held at Big Lick Church in Smithville on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. with Brother George Spears officiating. Internment will follow at Smithville Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to Beasley-Wood Funeral Home of Mena. The Choctaw Community Center will be serving lunch following service. All are welcome. Pallbearers will be Anthony Hunter, Garrett Kuhl, Trenton Dees, Jerome Carney, David Hoyle, and Bryce Holt.
